Elusive 2

Determined to do things right this time I took a team of three to the mine with me. Armed with a raft, paddles, rope equipment, and cameras we were read to take on the mine. Think again. All of us had forgotten jackets and there was no way we could make it through the cold, wet mine without some protection form the elements.

Gathering up the plastic bags we had brought to keep our cameras dry we bundled up for a trip into the underground.

This time, despite our foolish appearance we reached the lake and successfully crossed. The tunnel on the other side didn't extend very far, but to our best guess we had been the first people on the other side in over 100 years. Not too bad for a couple of guys dressed in shopping bags.
